Moretto Automatic Control of Moisture Content System Debut at Fakuma 2017
Moretto, the Italian auxiliary equipment supplier, unveiled the new product MoistureMeterManager at Fakuma 2017, which is said to be the only system in the world that automatically controls the moisture content throughout the polymer drying process. Moretto is one of the leading suppliers of auxiliary equipment for the plastics industry The MoistureMeterManager will be launched in 2018 to create a fully automated loop to control the drying process. It is equipped with an automatic setting function so no human intervention or offline calibration is required. The pellets in MoistureMeter were measured online every 2 seconds. Thanks to dual control (at the hopper inlet and outlet), the MoistureMeterManager automatically corrects drying parameters, resulting in significant energy efficiency and product quality. The system provides a pellet quality report that can be set up according to specific requirements, such as a piece-by-piece report or a regular setting of 10-30 minutes or hours as needed. The system uses exclusive Power-Peak technology to precisely control the residual moisture of the plastic pellets, which verifies the completion of the process according to predetermined limits. MoistureMeterManager is self-adaptive, so the system is fully compliant with the Smart Factory Project 4.0 concept for MOWIS (MorettoObjectWindows Integrated Supervisor).
