The Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine pointed out that the national standards CNS 20345 and CNS 20346 were developed with reference to the International Standard (ISO), and the inspection items can more fully evaluate the performance of safety shoes and protective shoes. From next year, the scope of inspections will be extended to leather and other materials equipped with toes. The Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine also reminded consumers that the purpose of wearing safety shoes, protective shoes and general footwear is not the same. General footwear with safety steel heads should not be used as safety shoes in workplaces.
