Teijin Aramid announced on July 13 that it will expand its production of aramid fibers (super fibers) at its plant in Amman, the Netherlands. Teijin Group allegedly invested a non-public amount of funds in the spinning technology of the factory and is expected to be officially launched in the first quarter of 2019.

This investment is to meet the growing demand for Teijin's high-performance aramid fiber, and the new spinning technology will help increase production capacity. New technologies can also increase the automation of spinning processes and reduce labor.

Gert Frederiks, president and CEO of Teijin Aramid, said that the investment not only enables new technologies but also enables the company to meet the growing market demand.

Teijin Aramid said that in the past five years, the company’s investment in research and development has exceeded 5% of its income.

Teijin Aramid is currently responsible for the production, development and sales of all aramid and polyethylene products.
