Ceiling lamp cleaning and maintenance precautions

Since ceiling lamps are typically installed in high places, the lampshade and bulb can be fragile and prone to breaking. When removing the lampshade, it's recommended to have two people work together for safety. Before starting any cleaning or maintenance, always turn off the power supply to avoid electrical hazards. Also, avoid using a wet cloth to clean the lamp holder, as this could lead to electric shocks or damage.

Cleaning the ceiling lampshade depends on its material. For fabric or cloth lampshades, start by using a small vacuum cleaner to remove surface dust. Then, apply a mild detergent and gently scrub the area with a soft cloth. However, if the inside of the lampshade is made of paper, avoid using any liquid cleaners directly, as they may cause damage. Instead, use a dry cloth to wipe it carefully. For frosted glass lampshades, a soft cloth combined with a small amount of toothpaste works well. For textured or bumpy surfaces, wrap a soft cloth around your fingers to reach into crevices and clean effectively.

When cleaning the lamp holder, first remove any loose dust with a dry cloth. Then, use a slightly damp cotton cloth to wipe it down, making sure not to leave any water behind, as moisture can cause corrosion or short circuits. Always handle the lamp holder with care to prevent accidental damage.

When cleaning the entire ceiling lamp, it's best to wear a pair of light cotton socks or gloves to protect both the lamp and your hands. Gently wipe the surface without moving or touching internal components. After cleaning, make sure to reassemble the lamp exactly as it was, ensuring all parts are properly placed and no pieces are lost or misplaced. This will help maintain the lamp’s functionality and appearance over time.
