渑185 million tons of bauxite mine in the Dianchi coal under the aluminum project

Abstract Recently, the Sixth Geological Brigade of the Henan Non-ferrous Geology and Mineral Resources Bureau released new findings from the coal-to-aluminum exploration project in Cao Kiln, located to the west of Mianchi County. Following a preliminary survey, the project has identified an estimated 185 million tons of bauxite resources—far exceeding the initial target of 152 million tons. This discovery marks a significant breakthrough in the region's mineral exploration efforts. In recent years, as the demand for bauxite continues to rise and traditional reserves become scarcer, the province has prioritized strategic exploration initiatives, particularly focusing on finding bauxite deposits beneath coal seams. Among the 88 self-managed exploration areas currently under the province’s supervision, 15 projects are specifically targeting coal-under-aluminum resources. The Cao Kiln project, part of the West Coal Under Aluminum Survey, has seen substantial investment, with 33.8 million yuan allocated for exploration activities. So far, 479.51 meters of drilling have been completed, involving 195 drill holes. Of these, 97 holes encountered bauxite, 25 revealed iron ore, and 26 showed clay deposits. These results not only highlight the potential of the area but also reinforce the importance of continued exploration in meeting the growing industrial needs of the region.
