To ensure that troops are fully prepared for real-world scenarios, the training center has developed an immersive approach known as "situation rehearsal." According to Mr. Wattsav, a spokesperson for the facility, there are now 40 different training lanes, each designed to simulate specific aspects of combat environments. These lanes were created with the help of Hollywood professionals, who brought their expertise in storytelling and realism to the project. Every detail, from the architecture and local language to the food and currency, mirrors life in an Iraqi village. Many of the locals who act as role players are Iraqi-Americans, speaking Arabic and following traditional customs. Soldiers must respect these cultural elements during their training.

Once they arrive, soldiers are immediately immersed in a highly realistic battlefield environment. From the moment they step off the plane, they're treated as if they're already on the front lines. They live in simulated Arab villages, where conditions are even more challenging than real-life settings. Nighttime brings simulated artillery fire, and surprise attacks are common. Enemy forces often strike when soldiers are least prepared, using terrain to set traps or lure them into ambushes. The training grounds are heavily fortified with armed guards, barbed wire, and mock corpses, while machine guns sit ready on sandbag emplacements. Command posts are hidden under camouflage nets and covered in sandbags. Dimly lit rooms are filled with maps and operational charts, while the sounds of simulated gunfire mix with radio chatter.

One of the most critical aspects of the training is preparing for chemical threats. The "enemy" may launch a simulated attack using tear gas-filled smoke, making gas masks an essential part of daily gear. Even small mistakes during training can have serious consequences, and sometimes a single gas mask can be the difference between safety and disaster. This intense, high-stakes environment helps soldiers build confidence and readiness for the unpredictable nature of real combat.
