Xinjiang unveiled the prelude of counterfeiting agricultural materials in 2014

In the early hours of March 31st, staff from the Yuli County Seed Management Station in Xinjiang took the time to educate local farmers on how to identify genuine cotton seeds. “If the color is dull, the weight feels light, and the price is significantly lower than that of standard seeds, it might be fake,” they warned. “Don’t fall for cheap deals.” Li Dubing, a farmer from Kunqi Village in Xingping Township, stood nearby and remarked, “After growing cotton for so many years, I never realized how hard it is to tell real seeds from fake ones.” As spring farming activities were in full swing across Xinjiang, the 2014 "Agricultural Concerns to the Countryside" campaign officially kicked off in Yuli County on the same day, marking the start of the region’s spring plowing season. During the event, officials from various departments, including industry, commerce, and agriculture, engaged with farmers, discussing how to purchase quality agricultural products and teaching them how to spot common counterfeit items. According to Ekbar Uvur, head of the Regional Agriculture Department, this period is not only crucial for spring plowing but also a peak time for the sale and use of agricultural inputs. This year, the region is expected to require approximately 1.902 million tons of chemical fertilizers. Ensuring access to authentic and high-quality agricultural resources plays a vital role in supporting the entire year's farming output. On the same day, Xinjiang's agricultural law enforcement teams conducted surprise inspections at county and township-level agricultural markets, seizing several batches of counterfeit and substandard products. Following the launch of the “Affirmative Farming and Rural-to-Village Advocacy Week” campaign, the regional agricultural department plans to organize a series of educational programs and training sessions aimed at improving farmers’ knowledge of purchasing and using agricultural inputs. The initiative also encourages leading agricultural enterprises, professional associations, and other organizations to innovate supply models by establishing rural outlets, setting up relief stores, and expanding the reach of quality agricultural products. According to reports, in 2014, agricultural authorities across the region will maintain strict anti-counterfeiting efforts under the principle of “not letting go of five things”: not overlooking the source or destination of substandard products, not ignoring responsibility failures, not neglecting incomplete disclosures, not leaving investigations unfinished, and not tolerating unimplemented corrective measures. This comprehensive approach aims to safeguard the integrity of the agricultural supply chain and protect farmers from fraud.

Screws are threaded fasteners that create permanent or temporary assemblies. They are inserted and removed by turning in one direction or another. Wood screws, floor screws, and sheet metal screws have flat heads that sit flush when holding material together. Machine screws fasten metal to metal and are inserted into a prethreaded hole or mated with a nut. Thread-cutting screws are self-tapping screws that cut away and remove the surrounding material to create a tapped hole. Deck screws resist rust and corrosion to hold outdoor decking materials together. Drywall screws have fine tips, coarse threads, and tapered bugle heads to penetrate drywall and grip wood without damaging material. Hex-head bolts, cap screws, and lag screws are driven with wrenches rather than screwdrivers or drill bits. Captive panel screws and thumb screws can be tightened and loosened without tools on parts that are frequently removed such as access panels. Screw caps can help to cover screw heads for both safety and aesthetic purp
