Improvement of fastener mold technology in China's mold industry

The development of the mold industry has significantly advanced, which in turn has driven improvements in fastener mold technology. As a critical component in industrial manufacturing, fastener molds must meet high-quality standards. With technological progress, the demand for more advanced and precise fastener molds continues to rise.
As China's economy stabilizes and its industrial structure becomes more optimized, the quality expectations for industrial products are increasing. This trend places greater pressure on the development of fastener molds, pushing them toward higher-end applications. It is anticipated that China’s fastener mold industry will gradually shift towards more sophisticated and technologically advanced solutions in the coming years.
In recent years, the rapid growth of China’s mold industry has led to significant improvements in the standardization, specialization, and commercialization of mold components. However, there remains a gap in the production of high-tech, high-performance, and high-quality fastener molds. As a result, a large number of these advanced molds are still imported from abroad annually. To address this, domestic manufacturers need to focus on enhancing technical standards, investing in research and development, and improving overall product quality.
Many developed countries place great emphasis on fastener development, as it is closely tied to the use of standardized mold systems. However, due to a late start in mold standardization, China's fastener molds have traditionally been limited in variety, scale, and quality. They often suffer from issues such as limited specifications, small-scale production, and low-grade performance. High-end fastener molds produced by foreign companies remain expensive, limiting their widespread adoption.
Additionally, the Chinese fastener mold industry is highly fragmented, with numerous small factories operating independently, leading to inconsistent quality and inefficient production. The market is also marked by intense competition, resulting in disorderly practices and lower overall standards.
Looking at China’s "Tenth Five-Year Plan" for the mold industry, it was clearly stated that fastener molds should expand their range, improve precision, and achieve interchangeability. Even under the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan," China’s fastener mold industry still lags behind global leaders. Many fastener types that have been widely used overseas are not yet produced domestically. Currently, medium- to high-grade fasteners are largely imported, while low-performance products are used in less demanding applications where high precision is not required.
